Volvo Transmission Oil

To state-specific quality demands for Volvo's manual gearboxes, Automatic gearboxes and rear axles, various specifications have been developed by Volvo:

Volvo transmission oil 97305-Mineral-based oil with satisfactory load performance and synchronising characteristics. Is used with normal oil change intervals.

Volvo transmission oil 97307-Synthetic transmission oil with excellent resistance to oxidation, good characteristics at low temperatures and better load performance than transmission oil 97305. Is used with extended oil change intervals. All oils have been field tested in Volvo's Synchronised Mechanical (SMT) or Automated Mechanical Transmissions (AMT) with up te 400 000 km or three years without oil change.

Volvo transmission oil 97312-Synthetic transmission oil with excellent protection against oxidation and good characteristics at low temperatures. All oils have been field tested in Volvo's rear axles with up to 400 000 km or three years without oil change. Is used with extende oil change intervals.

Volvo transmission oil 97315-Same basic requirements as Volvo transmission oil 97307 but with higher viscosity (SAE 75W-90). Transmission oil 97315 is recommended for use in severe applications and/or in regions with high ambient temperatures.

Volvo transmission oil 97318-As Transmission Oil 97307 but with further improved long drain and load carrying capacity. All oils have been tested in Volvo's Synchronised Mechanical (SMT) or automated mechanical transmissions (AMT) with up to 800 000 km or five years without oil change. Currently only applied in North America.

Volvo transmission oil 97319-As Transmission Oil 97315 but with further improved long drain and load carrying capacity. Currently only applied in North America.

Volvo transmission oil 97321-Minerals-based oils intended for final drives and short drain intervals. Thes oils have improved oxidation and thermal resistance compared to API GL-5 oils.

Volvo transmission oil 97322 - Minerals-based oils intended for final drives and medium drain intervals. These oils have improved oxidation and thermal resistance compared to API GL-5 oils.

Volvo transmission oil 97340-Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) combining the obsolete requirements of Dexron III and Allison C4.

Volvo transmission oil 97341-As same as Volvo transmission oil 97340 but with improved shear stability.

Volvo transmission oil 97342-Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) intended for powershift transmissions in heavy-duty trucks and construction machines. Volvo transmission oil 97342 has improved oxidation stability and friction characteristics for improved shift quality compared to transmission oils 97340 and 97341.
