Oil Storage

Oil containers that are stored outdoors should be placed under a roof, to protect them from rain and direct sunlight. Oil drums should always be stored lying down, with the emptying plug at the lowest point. This is to avoid water being trapped on the lid surface and then seeping in to the oil drums. The markings should be well protected. Most lubricants can be stored outdoors even during the winter but large temperature variations should be avoided as it can result in water ingress.

Lubricants storage

Lubricants can be stored for several years without losing their quality, but it is recommended that the container is carefully shaken if the product has been stored for more than a year, to ensure that the contents are properly homogenized. Once the container is opened for use, it must be stored indoor in ordered to minimize the water content in the oil. Water in oil can severely affect the quality of the oil, for example it can dramatically reduce gear and bearing lifetime. Opened containers will not be left in storage for prolonged periods of time. The flashpoint for most lubricants lies well over 100°C, and often over 200°C, so they are not classified as flammable. Products classed as flammable must be handled and stored in accordance with local regulations.

Diesel particulate filter-DPF

Diesel particulate filter(DPF) greatly reduces the emission of soot particles, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. This system automatically burns away the soot particles trapped in the filter.
