Standard flooded battery, STD

Standard flooded batteries contain liquid electrolyte; a mix of sulphuric acid and distilled water. During usage and charging the electrolyte is consumed and released from the battery in the form of gas. The cell plugs can be opened to check the electrolyte level and the batteries can be refilled if necessary.

Standard flooded batteries are offered both as HD (Heavy Duty) and HDX (Heavy Duty Extra). In an HDX battery, the plate thickness is increased and each cell is held in place with hot melt adhesive. This makes the battery more resistant to the effects of excessive vibration. An HDX battery also has a higher battery density.
