Introduction

The batteries which are being an essential part of a car or any other vehicles.
The batteries are used to start the engine and they supply all the control units and power consumers of the truck.

The condition of the batteries i.e. their capacity to take charge and provide power, has great importance on whether the vehicle performs well and is operationally reliable.

Important to know about batteries

Mostly all parts of the electrical system are supplied and pending of the batteries. Even if the alternator is generating the average energy, the batteries will handle peak loads and support when the alternator is not running. Examples of high consumers are refrigerator, cab climate and certain superstructures.

The condition of the batteries deteriorates over time and with high load, however, care of the batteries can improve their service life.

For batteries to maintain charging capacity and to provide power it is important to use a top-up charger regularly. Even if they are deemed to be fully charged.

To fully charge the batteries, an external top-up charger must be used regularly.

Replacing the batteries :

The electrical system must be in the "Parked" function mode when disconnecting or replacing the batteries.

When disconnecting the battery, disconnect the negative terminal first. When connecting the battery, connect the negative terminal last This reduces the risk of a short circuit and sparking. Which could be dangerous due to oxy-hydrogen gas.

Ensure the batteries are connected correctly.

Avoid discharging the batteries below 45% capacity. Deep discharging of batteries often leads to permanent battery damage, which shortens their service life.

Diesel particulate filter-DPF

Diesel particulate filter(DPF) greatly reduces the emission of soot particles, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. This system automatically burns away the soot particles trapped in the filter.
